Local Cyprus football team Anorthosis Famagusta have secured a historic draw against Inter Milan in the Champions League, holding onto second place and keeping their undefeated home record intact.Anorthosis now have five points and are just behind the Italian team in Group B after their 3-3 draw at Nicosia’s GSP stadium last night.
Inter took an early lead when Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s long-range free-kick proved too hot to handle for goalkeeper Arian Beqaj.
But a defensive mistake from goalkeeper Julio Cesar and centre-back Nicolas Burdisso allowed Anorthosis to get back on terms.
Athens’ Panathinaikos are in third position in the group with four points, after beating Germany’s Werder Bremen 3-0. The German team are now bottom of the group with two points.
